Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining and supporting a large-scale global computer infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations for approximately 8,000 PCs. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, a deep understanding of end-user computing, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support an existing global computer infrastructure of approximately 8,000 PCs.
  • Image and onboard new computers into the domain and onto the network, ensuring security and protection of both new and existing hardware.
  • Consult with business users and scientists, providing assistance with equipment, incident management, and user support.
  • Troubleshoot data flows for scientific instruments and resolve issues related to device connectivity, network problems, and laboratory software.
  • Implement validated data-backup solutions on laboratory analytical equipment (investigation, documentation, and technical configuration) for both GxP and non-GxP environments.
  • Support access management, testing, and validation of computer software across multiple environments, including writing technical documentation.

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Strong end-user computing / desktop support background with outstanding computer troubleshooting abilities.
  • Expertise in break/fix activities, static and dynamic IPs, subnetting, IT/OT networks, and a basic understanding of firewalls.
  • Familiarity with the OSI model and the ability to diagnose issues at various network layers.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory administration.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Knowledge of computer security best practices.
  • Prior exposure to validated systems (GxP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency is beneficial.

Generic / Managerial Skills:

  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented self-starter, willing to follow established processes and procedures.
  • Experience leading teams is a plus.

Preferred for Lab Enablers:

  • Ability to align technology with scientific processes, support hardware standards for digital labs, and explore innovative, automated solutions to scientific problems.
  • Strong product ownership and project management capabilities.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $60,000 – $85,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Collegeville, PA
