Job Title: Senior/Lead SAP MDG Technical Consultant
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Remote)
Duration: 6+ Months
Role Description:
We are looking for a Senior/Lead SAP MDG Technical Consultant with over 10 years of SAP experience, focusing strongly on SAP Master Data Governance (MDG). The role involves designing, building, and supporting SAP MDG solutions across various domains including Business Partner (BP), Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance (GL/Cost Center), and custom objects. The consultant will lead the technical design and development of MDG solutions, drive integration with both SAP (ECC/S/4HANA) and non-SAP systems, ensure robust data quality and governance workflows, and support deployments, upgrades, and hypercare phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end technical solution design for SAP MDG, encompassing Data Modeling, UI configuration, workflow strategy, and integration architecture.
- Define technical standards, naming conventions, transport strategies, and performance guidelines for MDG implementations.
- Provide support for SAP MDG on S/4HANA and/or MDG on ECC landscapes, including complex multi-system scenarios.
- Configure and troubleshoot MDG workflows, agent determination, substitutions, escalation logic, and integration with organizational structures and roles.
- Configure and support the Data Replication Framework (DRF), including replication models, filters, key mapping, and value mapping.
- Implement and enhance data validation, duplicate check, and enrichment logic within the MDG framework.
- Support the data cleansing strategy and monitor data governance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as completeness and accuracy.
- Configure and extend Change Request (CR) types, steps, actions, validations/derivations, field properties, defaulting rules, required fields, and BRF+ rules for validations, derivations, and decision logic.
Required Experience:
- 10+ years of SAP experience with a strong focus on SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing MDG solutions across domains like Business Partner, Customer, Vendor, Material, and Finance.
- Experience with MDG on S/4HANA and/or MDG on ECC.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, UI configuration, and workflow strategies in MDG.
- Experience with integration technologies and frameworks, including DRF.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting MDG workflows and related components.
- Knowledge of data quality and governance principles.
- Experience with BRF+ for rule-based logic.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with custom MDG objects.
- Knowledge of SAP data migration tools and techniques.
- Experience in supporting data governance initiatives and defining KPIs.
