SAP ABAP Developer

Durham, North Carolina (3 days Hybrid) – Only local resource

Contract

Develop, enhance, and maintain SAP ABAP programs across multiple SAP modules (ECC or S/4HANA).
Work onsite with business users and functional consultants to gather requirements and clarify technical needs.
Design, code, test, and debug ABAP objects including: Reports (Classical & ALV), Interfaces (IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs), Enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework), Forms (SmartForms, Adobe Forms), OData services.
Support integration with other SAP and nonSAP systems.
Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and quality assurance activities.
Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.
Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams to ensure smooth delivery.
Document technical specifications, test scripts, and deployment steps.

5-8+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
Strong understanding of SAP architecture, data structures, and integration points.
Experience with ABAP OO, CDS Views, AMDP, and modern ABAP practices (preferred for S/4HANA environments).
Solid experience with interfaces, enhancements, and forms.
Ability to work directly with business stakeholders in an onsite environment.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with S/4HANA development.
Exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5 development (bonus).
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models.
Prior experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, or finance processes (if relevant to your client).

Only local candidates to North Carolina. Hybrid work model (3 days onsite).

Salary: $70,200 – $93,600 per year
