Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Order Management Architect to design and implement scalable, enterprise-level order lifecycle solutions using Salesforce Lightning Order Management and the Salesforce Lightning Platform.

The ideal candidate will have strong post-order lifecycle experience, including fulfilment, shipping, returns, refunds, payments, and customer visibility across integrated enterprise systems.

This role requires a technical leader who can guide architecture decisions, design integrations, and ensure robust, maintainable solutions across commerce, service, and operations platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Order Management Architecture

Design end-to-end order lifecycle solutions, including:

  • Order ingestion
  • Order orchestration and routing
  • Fulfilment and shipment
  • Cancellations, returns, and refunds

Architect and configure Salesforce Lightning Order Management, including:

  • Order Summary
  • Fulfilment Orders
  • Delivery Groups
  • Order Orchestration
  • Exception handling

Ensure data consistency, scalability, and resiliency when integrating with upstream commerce platforms and downstream fulfilment systems.

Integration & Ecosystem Design

Define and manage integration strategies between Salesforce and enterprise systems such as:

  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • ERP platforms
  • Payment gateways (authorization, capture, settlement, refunds)
  • 3PL providers and last-mile carriers
  • Parcel tracking systems

Design API contracts, canonical data models, and event-driven architectures.

Implement synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.

Troubleshoot complex integration issues including:

  • Missing or partial payloads
  • Retry mechanisms
  • Idempotency and error handling

Post-Order & Customer Experience

Architect scalable solutions for:

  • Shipment and delivery updates
  • Order exception notifications
  • Returns and RMAs
  • WISMO (Where Is My Order) capabilities

Enable event-driven updates for customer service agents and self-service portals.

Ensure a seamless post-order experience across B2C, B2B, and Service Cloud environments.

Platform & Technical Leadership

Design Salesforce solutions using:

  • Apex
  • Flows
  • Platform Events
  • Salesforce Orchestration

Establish best practices for:

  • Metadata management
  • Environment strategy
  • CI/CD pipelines

Conduct architecture reviews and technical governance for delivery teams.

Create architecture diagrams, integration workflows, and technical documentation.

Client & Delivery Leadership

Lead technical discovery sessions and architecture workshops.

Collaborate with business, commerce, service, and operations stakeholders.

Translate complex technical requirements into clear solution designs.

Support project estimation, planning, and delivery governance.

Required Qualifications

Salesforce Experience

  • 10+ years of Salesforce experience
  • 3+ years of Salesforce Order Management experience
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Lightning Order Management data model
    • Order orchestration and fulfilment patterns
    • Apex, Flows, and Salesforce integration patterns
    • SFDX, Git, and CI/CD practices

Integration Experience

Hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with:

  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • ERP platforms
  • Payment processors
  • Shipping and carrier APIs
  • Parcel tracking platforms

Experience with middleware platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Workato is a plus.

Architecture Skills

  • API architecture and event-driven design
  • Data modeling and transformation
  • Performance optimization and scalability
  • Troubleshooting distributed systems

Soft Skills

  • Strong client-facing communication skills
  • Ability to lead cross-team architecture discussions
  • Experience mentoring developers and guiding technical teams
  • Comfortable acting as a technical authority on enterprise Salesforce solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce certifications such as:
    • Salesforce Order Management
    • Application Architect
    • Technical Architect
  • Experience with Salesforce Commerce (B2C or B2B)
  • Industry experience in Retail, Consumer Goods, or eCommerce
  • Background supporting high-volume, post-order operational systems

Special Requirements

Hybrid (50% Travel), Skype interviews may be required.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Minneapolis, MN
