Job Opportunity: GIS Developer (ArcGIS Developer)
We have an exciting long-term contract opportunity for a skilled GIS Developer with a focus on ArcGIS to join the State of New York. This role requires a candidate who is based in New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania (Tri-states only) and is willing to work a hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite in Brooklyn, NY.
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development with a focus on GIS.
- ArcGIS Enterprise: Deep understanding of Portal for ArcGIS, GeoEvent Server, ArcGIS Server, and Data Store.
- Application Development: Ability to build and deploy interactive web mapping applications using the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and Java, Spring Boot.
- Python: Advanced scripting for geoprocessing tasks.
- SQL: Proficiency in writing complex spatial joins and queries.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- ArcGIS API for Python: Experience using this for DevOps, automating user management, content audits, and cloning environments between Dev, Test, and Production.
- ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript (4.x): Mastery of the 4.x series, particularly creating custom widgets and handling 3D visualizations.
- Web Frameworks: Proficiency in Spring Boot, React, Angular, or Vue.js is highly desirable. Most modern ArcGIS web apps (built with the Maps SDK for JS) are integrated into these frameworks.
