Job Overview
Vyze Inc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mainframe Developer with extensive experience in IBM z/OS environments, Assembly language, and C/C++. This is a remote contract position with a duration of 6+ months, focusing on supporting and enhancing a critical legacy application. The role requires a strong background in mainframe-based transportation or enterprise systems, with the ability to analyze complex systems and design integration solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain a mission-critical mainframe application primarily written in Assembler.
- Perform system analysis, technical design, and propose solutions for complex mainframe challenges.
- Develop and maintain components using Assembler and C/C++.
- Design and implement integrations between legacy systems and enterprise services.
- Develop and support API integrations, acting as both a producer and consumer.
- Work with messaging systems such as IBM MQ.
- Build and maintain file-based integrations, including SFTP data exchanges.
- Support database interactions with DB2.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams on modernization efforts for legacy systems.
- Troubleshoot and debug system issues effectively.
Required Technical Skills
- Mainframe Environment: IBM z/OS, TPF-based systems.
- Programming Languages: Assembly (primary), C, C++.
- Integration Technologies: Experience with enterprise integrations including DB2 databases, REST or enterprise APIs, IBM MQ messaging, file-based integrations, and SFTP data transfers.
- Experience: Over 7 years of work experience in the USA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong LinkedIn profile with over 5 years of relevant activities.
- Excellent communication and technical skills.
- Experience working with mainframe-based transportation or enterprise systems.
- Ability to analyze complex systems and design integration solutions across multiple platforms.
