Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to support a long-term hybrid consulting engagement in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing secure and scalable data platforms, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and driving enterprise data architecture initiatives. This role requires expertise in modern cloud-based data technologies, data governance, and large-scale data migration strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance data architectures on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Develop and maintain enterprise data models and data warehousing solutions.
  • Oversee data governance, data quality, and metadata management initiatives.
  • Lead large-scale data migration and modernization projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Implement and manage real-time data streaming solutions using Kafka.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on data-related projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software or data architecture with a focus on enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and cloud data ecosystems.
  • Hands-on expertise with ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), dbt, or Spark.
  • Solid knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and large-scale data pipelines.
  • Experience implementing data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with Kafka for real-time data streaming.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture and security best practices on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with data migration, transformation, and modernization projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CIPP, TOGAF, AWS Architect, or Azure Architect.
  • Experience implementing frameworks like National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security guidelines.
  • Experience working with regulated environments and compliance-driven data platforms.
