Job Title: Senior Network Administrator/Network Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator/Network Engineer with at least 5 years of hands-on experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge in various networking technologies and a strong background in network design and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Configure, install, and test various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, load balancers, VPN).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex networking issues.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls and authentication policies.
- Design and implement wired and wireless network solutions.
- Monitor network performance and ensure optimal operation.
- Work off-business hours, including weekends, for equipment deployment and maintenance under strict timelines.
- Coordinate with WAN carriers for site surveys and circuit installation, testing, and turn-up.
- Provide support for network devices and services.
- Work in County Parks environments, which may include outdoor work, using ladders, and clearing obstructions.
- Travel to different locations across the County.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of knowledge and hands-on experience in networking.
- Expert knowledge in PAN FW, Cisco ASA/FTD, F5 LB, Citrix Netscalers.
- Proficiency in Routing and Switching (BGP and EIGRP routing protocol).
- Experience with Authentication Policy servers such as ISE or Aruba Clearpass.
- Solid understanding of network design principles (Wired and Wireless).
- Good experience with Layer 2 design concepts.
- Experience with lnfoblox, Solarwinds, StruxureWare, and Firepower management console.
- Experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, EIGRP, HTTP, DHCP, ICMP, DNS, ACL, NAT, SNMP, SYSLOG, NTP, TACACS, UPS.
- Experience with Cisco router, switch, and firewall hardware installation, configuration, IOS*, and support.
- Experience with Aruba indoor and outdoor WAP hardware installation and configuration.
- Experience with Cradlepoint hardware installation and configuration.
- Hands-on experience in physical installation, rack-and-stack, cabling, and use of basic hand and power tools.
- General knowledge of PC, iPhone, printer, and IoT devices’ installation and operation.
- Good communication, organization skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, persistent, accommodating, responsive, proactive, and reliable team player.
- Ability to learn the County environment.
- Must be local to California.
- Must have Government/State Experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- Working experience on SolarWinds, Infoblox, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst Center, and Aruba Mobility/Airwave.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work on-site five days a week.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be legally permitted to drive in California.
- Selected candidate will be required to take County driver training (online) and pass the test to obtain a County permit to drive on the job.
Employment Details:
- Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite).
- Duration: W2/C2C Contract.
- Rate: $50 – $55 per hour (C2H – Contract to Hire).
