Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Solution Architect to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. This is an onsite contract position focused on designing and implementing robust technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in REST API architecture, event-driven architectures, and microservices, with a strong understanding of software design principles and agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a technology vision and strategy for assigned solutions or business domains.
  • Conduct solution analysis, design, planning, and implementation, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between IT and business stakeholders for solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and other Architects to shape product roadmaps and deliver new features.
  • Present complex technical proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead Proof of Concepts (POCs) to evaluate new technologies and approaches.
  • Guide development teams during solution implementation, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Work across multiple projects, fostering collaboration and re-use.
  • Stay abreast of industry technology trends and emerging technologies, driving adoption within the organization.
  • Promote the company’s mission and values.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in solution architecture, including creating high-level design documents, solution decomposition, API design, and defining epics/stories for developers.
  • Proven experience in microservice design, particularly with REST-based microservice APIs.
  • Mastery of software design principles and major architecture patterns.
  • Strong, pragmatic approach to leading architecture and development solutions within an agile delivery framework.
  • Deep experience with AGILE/Lean development methodologies.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services.
  • Good knowledge of containerization tools and technologies (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot), SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB).
  • Understanding of DevOps processes and CI/CD tools.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear roadmaps and success definitions.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Effective collaboration and follow-up skills to ensure deadlines and results are met.
