Job Description: Project Manager – Asset Management
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver asset management-related initiatives for our client. This is an onsite role based in Boston, MA. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and governing projects across front, middle, and back-office functions, including sales/marketing & distribution, investment operations, regulatory change, and technology transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver asset management initiatives across front, middle, and back-office functions.
- Plan, execute, and govern projects involving sales/marketing & distribution, investment operations, regulatory change, and technology transformation.
- Coordinate with business and IT teams to ensure timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Manage stakeholders effectively, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Leverage strong financial services domain knowledge to guide project success.
- Work with global delivery teams and vendors.
- Effectively facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Functional / Domain Skills (Asset Management):
- Deep understanding of Asset Management business processes (Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office).
- Knowledge of investment products including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Mutual Funds, and ETFs.
- Familiarity with portfolio management, trade lifecycle, and settlement processes.
- Understanding of NAV calculation, fund accounting, and performance & attribution.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (SEC, FINRA, AML, KYC, ESG reporting).
- Experience with asset management platforms and data, including Order Management Systems, Market Data, and Reference Data.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the financial services or asset management industry.
- Strong understanding of asset management business processes and investment products.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, risk management, and communication skills.
- Experience working with global delivery teams and vendors is preferred.
- Past experience with end clients like Vanguard, Morgan Stanley, LPL Financial, or State Street is a plus.
Special Requirements
Onsite role. Prior experience with Vanguard, Morgan Stanley, LPL Financial, or State Street is beneficial.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $65 – $85 per year (Estimated)
