Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lean Six Sigma & Continuous Improvement Consultant to join our team. This role is crucial for driving enterprise-wide process improvements within the Office of Business Transformation. The consultant will focus on enhancing operational processes across Finance, HR, Payroll, and Research Administration by leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies and Smartsheet reporting tools. This is a remote position with a requirement to be onsite in Davis, CA twice a month. The contract duration is 12+ months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage business process improvement initiatives across various departments.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Utilize Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, and 5S techniques to optimize processes.
- Develop and implement advanced Smartsheet dashboards and workflows for reporting and tracking improvements.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams to achieve process improvement goals.
- Manage change effectively and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Deliver Lean Six Sigma training to internal teams.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to integrate process improvements.
- Analyze data and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in process improvement and AI tools for process analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading business process improvement initiatives.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification with strong DMAIC experience.
- Expertise in Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Proven change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience facilitating cross-functional improvement initiatives.
- Advanced Smartsheet dashboards and workflows experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Experience delivering Lean Six Sigma training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Prosci / ACMP (Change Management) or PMP certification.
- Familiarity with AI tools for process analysis.
- Local to California, specifically the Greater Sacramento or Bay Area.
