Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst Controls Testing & Compliance to perform independent quality assurance reviews of control testing activities across first and second lines of defense. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to internal methodologies, regulatory expectations, and SOX/ITGC standards, while enhancing the overall quality and reliability of control testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform independent QA reviews of control testing executed by 1st and 2nd Line of Defense (LoD) teams.
  • Ensure testing aligns with internal methodologies, regulatory requirements, and SOX/ITGC standards.
  • Validate sample selection, including population accuracy, period coverage, and testing frequency alignment.
  • Assess the sufficiency and appropriateness of audit evidence (inspection, reperformance, observation).
  • Review and challenge testers’ conclusions where supporting evidence is inadequate.
  • Reject incomplete or non-compliant workpapers and provide actionable feedback for remediation.
  • Identify thematic issues and trends across testing activities and report to senior management and governance forums.
  • Support remediation efforts by validating control redesign, reviewing retesting evidence, and ensuring documentation updates.
  • Prepare QA dashboards, metrics, and quality trend reports for senior stakeholders and committees.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong experience in QA review of control testing (1st and 2nd LoD).
  • In-depth knowledge of SOX and ITGC frameworks.
  • Expertise in audit techniques such as inspection, reperformance, and observation.
  • Ability to critically assess evidence and challenge testing conclusions.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, including dashboard preparation.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and governance reporting experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in BI Testing
  • Background in Finance & Accounting (F&A) Controls and Compliance
  • Exposure to Functional Testing

Compensation & Location

Salary: $50 – $70 per year (Estimated)

Location: Stamford, CT
