Job Description:
We have an urgent requirement for a QA Engineer with a Public Sector (State / Federal / Local Govt.) client. The role requires the candidate to be a local to Texas. This is a long-term project.
The Software QA Engineer will perform advanced and/or supervisory computer systems analysis and team lead work, administering the daily operations and activities of testing teams within the Quality Assurance (QA) section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System). Work involves planning, budgeting, and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems.
The QA Automation team supports the Automation effort of all the Texas Education Agency applications. The candidate will work with the QA Automation team to provide the following Software Testing Services:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Automation team in using GitHub Copilot to increase Automation Productivity.
- Apply experience with Automation testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and acceptance testing.
- Utilize Selenium or Playwright and TestNG using Java Language for automation.
- Perform API testing with REST-assured based frameworks.
- Collaborate with the development team and customers to clearly understand the functionality under test to define and implement test case automation.
- Communicate effectively with the team regarding test strategies and findings.
- Perform SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data.
- Conduct manual testing and data validation.

Requirements:
- Minimum 14 years of experience.
- Public Sector (State / Federal / Local Govt.) Client Experience is mandatory.
- Statewide Education Data System Experience is a must.
- Strong understanding of QA Automation principles and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be local to Texas.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)
