Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled SAS Developer to join our team. This role involves leading end-to-end SAS solution design and development, working with complex datasets, and ensuring the performance, scalability, and maintainability of SAS code. The ideal candidate will have strong technical leadership skills and experience in data architecture, development, and stakeholder management.
Technical Leadership Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end SAS solution design and development using SAS Base, SAS Macros, and SAS SQL.
- Own and manage complex data transformations, validations, and reporting logic.
- Review and optimize SAS code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks for SAS development.
- Guide and execute migration or modernization initiatives, such as migrating from SAS to Python, PySpark, or cloud platforms.
Development and Delivery Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain batch and scheduled SAS jobs in Linux/Unix environments.
- Work with large and complex datasets across various database systems including Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
- Handle job monitoring, failure analysis, and provide production support.
- Ensure adherence to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), audit, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate deployments across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
Team and Stakeholder Management Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other SAS developers.
- Perform code reviews and technical walkthroughs to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, data architects, QA teams, and operations personnel.
- Participate in client discussions, requirement clarifications, and solution reviews.
- Support estimations, planning, and delivery commitments for SAS projects.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in SAS Base, SAS Macros, and SAS SQL.
- Experience with data architecture principles.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL).
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
- Understanding of SDLC, audit, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
- Experience with migration initiatives (e.g., SAS to Python/PySpark) is a plus.

Salary: $90,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
