Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Architect with a strong background in support and DevOps to join our remote team. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud platform engineering, networking technologies, and infrastructure automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in AWS and exposure to multi-cloud environments, with a proven track record in platform operations and solutioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable and resilient cloud solutions on AWS.
  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Automate deployment, scaling, and management of applications using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize cloud environments.
  • Ensure adherence to cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor cloud resource utilization and costs, implementing optimization strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and industry trends.

Core Technical Skills

  • AWS Services: Deep knowledge and practical experience with EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM (including SSO and multi-account setups), VPC, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Transit Gateway, Control Tower/Landing Zones, System Manager, Security Hub, Config, GuardDuty/Rails, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Cost Explorer, Trust Advisor.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in CloudFormation and Terraform for automated deployments.
  • Networking: Strong understanding of VPC design, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, GCP Interconnect).
  • Cloud Security: Familiarity with best practices for identity management, encryption, and compliance.
  • Database Services: Experience with AWS RDS and related managed database offerings.
  • Container Services: Kubernetes/Docker.
  • Languages: Python, Bash.
  • OS Administration: RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS.

Preferred Background

  • Previous role as AWS Cloud Platform Engineer, Cloud Operations Specialist, or Architect.
  • Experience in multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

Experience Requirements

  • 4-6+ years in cloud platform engineering and networking technologies.
  • 8-10 years of overall relevant experience.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
