Job Summary:
The Senior Developer is responsible for analyzing existing applications at IDOH and building new web applications. The developer will collaborate with the project manager, other developers, business analysts, and functional team members on project activities.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completing project assignments and participating in the full development life cycle, including requirements analysis and design.
- Work with technical and functional staff on detailed business requirements, understanding business processes and technology, agency standards, federal and state policies to align with project goals.
- Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
- Utilize object-oriented techniques and best practices for design, development, unit testing, and deployment.
- Develop code along with unit testing strategy & plans.
- Use Microsoft .NET Framework and a supported MVC framework, C# programming language for application development.
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure the project plan is maintained and project milestones are being met.
- Collaborate with PM, technical staff, and end-users to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet application needs.
- Ability to work independently with less guidance and collaborate with ISDH external partners as needed.
- Consider agency web applications architecture and business decisions for design.
- Ability to work independently and under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment.

Additional Responsibilities (EDI):
- Performing requirements analysis, documenting, and communicating the results to the EDI team and program team.
- Ensuring accurate and appropriate file exchanges with external trading partners and resolving EDI data transmission conflicts.
- Providing helpdesk level support for EDI claim transactions.

Special Requirements
Hybrid (3 days in office and 2 days remote). Candidate MUST be a Local to Indianapolis. Duration: Initial Period: 05/4/2026 – 11/30/2026. Rate: $60/hr on c2c. EDI experience is a nice to have but not required.
