Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead end-to-end Salesforce data migration projects. The role involves moving data from Snowflake and on-prem systems to DataStage and Salesforce, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance throughout the process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Salesforce admins, architects, and product owners to deliver scalable, automated, and auditable data migration solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design source-to-target mapping with transformation and validation rules.
- Develop ETL workflows using IBM DataStage, SQL, and Python.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and standardization.
- Execute mock migration runs, analyze errors, and fix issues.
- Conduct final production data loads with validation and sign-off.
- Generate reconciliation reports to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Create a migration runbook (process, rollback, controls, schedules).
- Implement data quality checks, lineage tracking, and compliance artifacts.
- Work with Salesforce teams on object relationships and load sequencing.
- Optimize ETL performance and automate validation processes.
Critical Deliverables:
- Source-to-target mapping documentation.
- ETL workflows and scripts.
- Validated data extraction files.
- Data cleansing and validation rules.
- Mock migration reports (minimum 3 runs).
- Final production data load with verification.
- Post-migration reconciliation reports.
- Complete migration runbook and documentation.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM DataStage (ETL/ELT).
- Advanced SQL skills with performance tuning.
- Expertise in data mapping, cleansing, deduplication, and validation.
- Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and compliance.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing ETL pipelines.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with Salesforce data model.
- Experience with Salesforce Data Loader or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Snowflake or cloud data warehouses.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for ETL deployment.
- Proficiency in Python for automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 7+ years of data engineering experience.
- 3+ years building production ETL pipelines.
- Prior experience in Salesforce or CRM data migration projects (preferred).
