Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lawson Software Developer with a strong background in RPG, COBOL, and AS/400 to join our team. This is a remote contract position where you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and enhancing Lawson applications, reports, and workflows. You will play a key role in troubleshooting technical issues, developing integrations, writing SQL queries, automating workflows, and supporting end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain applications using RPG, COBOL, SQL, and AS/400 CL.
- Work extensively with Lawson Interface Desktop (LID) and Process Flows to manage and automate business processes.
- Troubleshoot and debug Lawson applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Create and manage interfaces and integrations between Lawson modules and external systems.
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
- Perform comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and system testing, to ensure the quality of developed solutions.
- Document the development lifecycle processes, including design, development, and testing phases.
- Enhance user interfaces and workflows to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience with Lawson Software, specifically LID, Process Flow/IPA, and Lawson Portal.
- Strong programming skills in RPG, COBOL, and CL on the IBM i/AS400 platform.
- Hands-on experience with Infor Lawson tools.
- Expertise in Lawson database structures and product-line tables.
- Strong SQL skills for reporting and data extraction.
- Experience in troubleshooting, debugging, and system integrations within the Lawson environment.
- Ability to develop interfaces between Lawson modules and external systems.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and documentation best practices.
