Job Title: UI Lead Developer

We are seeking a UI Lead Developer with heavy experience in React Javascript/Typescript and Azure Static WebApp. This is a contract role with a rate of $57/hr. The location is Dallas or Houston, TX, requiring a hybrid work model with 3 days onsite.

Min 10+ years of experience required

Responsibilities:

  • Lead front-end architecture and development for React/TypeScript applications hosted on Azure Static Web Apps (SWA).
  • Define and enforce UI engineering standards: code quality, patterns, testing, performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and security.
  • Design CI/CD pipelines for SWA using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, including branch-based preview environments.
  • Integrate front-end with Azure Functions (BFF/API), Azure API Management, and configure routing, auth, and environment variables in SWA.
  • Own performance budgets and Web Vitals; drive bundle optimization, code-splitting, lazy-loading, and caching strategies.
  • Establish and maintain a component library/design system (Storybook), aligning closely with UX and product.
  • Lead code reviews, technical design sessions, grooming, and provide mentorship to engineers.
  • Implement observability for the front end via Azure Application Insights and Log Analytics; define dashboards and alerts.
  • Collaborate with security/infra teams on MSAL.js/Entra ID (Azure AD) or Azure AD B2C authentication, CSP, secure headers, and Key Vault usage.
  • Partner with product and backend teams to scope work, estimate, de-risk delivery, and meet release goals.
  • Champion a test-first culture with robust unit, integration, and e2e test suites in CI.
  • Drive incremental modernization (e.g., migration to React 18, React Router v6, TanStack Query) and manage technical debt.
