Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Lead with extensive experience in data governance, data security, and data engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with the BigID platform, including implementation and administration. You will be responsible for connecting BigID to various data environments, designing and tuning classification rules, and working with metadata/catalog platforms like Atlan.
This role requires fluency in using the BigID API to allow external tools to retrieve scan results and summaries. You will also manage credential management and secrets vaults (e.g., Azure Key Vault) and possess a strong understanding of both unstructured and structured data systems.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to listen to client requirements, look beyond existing systems, and propose future enhancements and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Implement and administer the BigID platform.
- Connect BigID to multiple data environments (e.g., NetApp, S3, databases).
- Design, tune, and manage classification rules and detection patterns.
- Utilize metadata/catalog platforms, specifically Atlan.
- Leverage the BigID API for external tool integration and data retrieval.
- Manage credential management and secrets vaults.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data governance-related issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and propose solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data security, or data engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with BigID platform implementation and administration.
- Proven experience connecting BigID to multiple data environments (NetApp, S3, databases, etc.).
- Experience designing and tuning classification rules and detection patterns.
- Familiarity with metadata/catalog platforms, specifically Atlan.
- Fluency in working with the BigID API to allow external tools to retrieve scan results and results summaries.
- Experience with credential management and secrets vaults (Azure Key Vault, etc.).
- Strong understanding of unstructured and structured data systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to listen to client requirements and look beyond the existing system, proposing future enhancements and efficiencies.
- 6+ years of work experience with Data Governance.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $70 – $95 per year
