Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Workday QA Consultant / Quality Engineer with strong experience in Workday HCM and Finance testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in both manual testing and test automation within the Workday ecosystem.

This role involves leading validation efforts across business processes, integrations, enhancements, and Workday semiannual releases, along with contributing to automation frameworks and regression testing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workday Functional Testing (HCM & Finance):
    • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
    • Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
    • Validate:
      • Business processes
      • Configurations
      • Security roles & condition rules
      • Reporting logic
    • Test Workday integrations:
      • EIB
      • Core Connectors
      • Workday Studio
      • PECI
      • Vendor interfaces
    • Collaborate with SMEs for complete test coverage
  • Test Automation:
    • Design and maintain automation scripts using:
      • Workday Test Automation (WTA)
      • Selenium / Cypress / Playwright
    • Identify automation opportunities and integrate into regression suites
    • Improve automation coverage for release readiness
  • Quality Engineering Activities:
    • Document test execution and results using:
      • Azure DevOps (ADO) / Test Management tools
    • Perform:
      • API testing
      • Integration testing
    • Manage defect lifecycle:
      • Logging, triage, retesting, validation
    • Support Workday bi-annual releases:
      • Risk analysis
      • Regression testing
    • Assist in UAT coordination and execution
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with:
      • Workday analysts
      • Developers
      • Configuration teams
      • Business stakeholders
    • Promote shift-left testing approach
    • Clearly communicate risks, progress, and issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of QA experience (3+ years in Workday)
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Workday HCM and/or Finance modules
    • Manual and automation testing
  • Experience with:
    • Workday integrations & configurations
    • Workday Test Automation (WTA)
  • Familiarity with:
    • Git
    • Programming/scripting languages
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday Certification
  • Experience with:
    • Workday Reporting & Calculated Fields
    • Security testing
    • SQL for data validation
  • Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Experience with tools like Bullhorn
  • API testing tools experience

Compensation & Location

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year
