Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Databricks Engineer with Azure experience for a long-term contract role. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Databricks, Azure ecosystem, and data lake/lakehouse architecture. This is an onsite role located in St. Louis, MO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Databricks (batch processing).
- Implement and manage data lake/lakehouse architectures.
- Utilize Delta Lake for data reliability and performance.
- Leverage the Azure Ecosystem, including Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Event Hub, and Synapse.
- Work with Azure PaaS services and potentially Cosmos DB.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git and Jenkins.
- Apply strong data modeling and architecture principles.
- Process high-volume data efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions.
Must-Have Skills:
- Core Technical:
- Extensive experience with Databricks (batch processing, pipelines).
- Proficiency in Data Lake / Lakehouse architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Delta Lake.
- Strong understanding of the Azure Ecosystem.
- Experience with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Event Hub, Synapse.
- Exposure to Cosmos DB / Azure PaaS services.
- Programming & Tools:
- Proficiency in Scala / Spark / Databricks.
- Experience with Git / Jenkins (CI/CD).
- Architecture:
- Expertise in Data modeling & architecture.
- Experience with high-volume data processing systems.

This role requires a candidate who is local to Missouri or willing to relocate to St. Louis for an onsite engagement. We are looking for individuals with a strong technical background and a proven track record in data engineering within the Azure cloud environment.
