Role Overview
The Solution Architect (Azure .NET Architect) is a high-impact leadership position based in the heart of San Francisco, California. This role is designed for a visionary technologist who can bridge the gap between complex business requirements and cutting-edge cloud solutions. As organizations in the Bay Area continue to lead the global shift toward artificial intelligence and cloud-native architectures, this position offers the opportunity to design and implement scalable, secure, and AI-integrated systems on the Microsoft Azure platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire architectural lifecycle, from initial conceptualization to final deployment and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Design: Lead the design of hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring that all solutions are optimized for performance, cost, and scalability. You will integrate AI workloads seamlessly with existing Azure services to drive business value.
- AI Integration: Architect and implement sophisticated AI solutions using the Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Cognitive Services. This includes customizing LLM models and building predictive analytics frameworks.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Oversee the modernization of cloud infrastructure by leveraging Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and microservices architectures. You will ensure that the underlying systems are resilient and capable of handling high-volume traffic.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce industry-leading Azure security best practices. This involves managing identity through Azure AD, configuring role-based access controls (RBAC), and ensuring that all data handling meets strict regulatory compliance standards.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Architect and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for both AI and enterprise applications using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. You will promote a culture of automation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with AI engineering, data science, and security teams to optimize Azure cloud solutions and ensure that technical strategies align with broader organizational goals.
Technical Requirements
- Core Development: Deep proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and the broader .NET ecosystem. You should have extensive experience with MVC patterns and client-side scripting using JavaScript, jQuery, and Kendo UI.
- Azure Services: Hands-on experience with a wide range of Azure services, including but not limited to AKS, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Cosmos DB.
- AI/ML Frameworks: Familiarity with tools such as Infer.NET and ML.NET, as well as exposure to Generative AI technologies.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-303/AZ-304) or equivalent is highly preferred. Additional certifications like AI-102 or DP-100 are a significant plus.
Experience and Soft Skills
The ideal candidate will possess 12 to 15 years of professional experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade SaaS products. This extensive background is necessary to navigate the complexities of large-scale cloud deployments and to provide technical mentorship to junior staff. Beyond technical expertise, we are looking for a professional with exceptional communication skills. You must be able to present complex architectural ideas to stakeholders at all levels and demonstrate strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot and resolve deep-seated technical issues. In the fast-paced San Francisco tech environment, the ability to adapt to new technologies and drive innovation is paramount.
