Position Summary
Kosmix IT is currently looking for an expert SAP Data Archiving Consultant for a critical 6-month engagement based in Dallas, Texas. This role is pivotal for an organization looking to optimize its SAP environment, reduce storage costs, and ensure long-term data compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end data archiving lifecycle, from strategy definition to technical execution and user support. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of technical SAP expertise and strategic data management skills. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs while ensuring the technical integrity of the SAP landscape. The project aims to streamline data processes and improve overall system agility, ensuring that the organization remains competitive in a data-driven market.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and implement a comprehensive SAP data archiving strategy tailored to the organization’s specific business needs and growth projections.
- Configure and manage various SAP archiving objects, specifically focusing on FI (Financial Accounting), CO (Controlling), MM (Materials Management), and SD (Sales and Distribution) modules.
- Establish and enforce data retention policies in alignment with legal, regulatory, and business requirements to mitigate risk.
- Ensure full compliance with data privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA) and audit requirements by maintaining accessible and searchable historical data.
- Schedule, monitor, and manage technical archiving jobs to ensure system performance is optimized without disrupting critical business operations.
- Provide expert support to end-users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-implementation phases, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to manage storage resources, optimize backup windows, and reduce the overall system footprint.
- Utilize SAP Datasphere for advanced data management, integration tasks, and modernizing the data landscape.
- Document all archiving processes and configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
Required Skills and Experience
- 6 to 8 years of dedicated experience in SAP Data Archiving and enterprise data management.
- Deep technical knowledge of SAP archiving objects across FI, CO, MM, and SD modules, including custom object development if necessary.
- Proficiency in SAP Datasphere and its application in modern, hybrid data architectures.
- Strong understanding of database management systems (HANA, Oracle, etc.) and system performance tuning techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects within tight deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., Finance, Healthcare, Manufacturing) where data retention and auditability are paramount.
- Familiarity with SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) is a significant plus.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
