Job Description: Data Analyst (Healthcare Insurance)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with a strong background in the Healthcare Insurance domain to join our team for a remote contract position. The ideal candidate will have specific experience with HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) reporting and a solid understanding of healthcare data structures. This role involves complex data analysis, mapping, and working within cloud environments to support insurance-related projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive data analysis on healthcare insurance datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and insights.
- Lead HEDIS-related data initiatives, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance with NCQA standards.
- Execute SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various relational databases.
- Develop and maintain data mapping documentation to ensure seamless data integration between disparate systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements for healthcare insurance projects.
- Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools for data storage, processing, and analysis.
- Analyze claims data, enrollment records, and provider information to support business decision-making.
- Identify data quality issues and work with technical teams to implement cleansing and validation rules.
- Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders and project leadership.
- Support the transition of legacy data processes to modern cloud-based architectures.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst specifically within the Healthcare Insurance industry.
- Strong subject matter expertise in HEDIS reporting and healthcare quality metrics.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and complex joins.
- Experience with data mapping and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards and data privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining high productivity.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
Project Details
This is a high-priority requirement for a Data Analyst who can hit the ground running. The project focuses on leveraging healthcare insurance data to improve HEDIS scores and operational efficiency. Candidates must be comfortable working in a C2C (Corp-to-Corp) or C2H (Contract-to-Hire) capacity. The role requires a deep dive into SQL/data mapping within a GCP infrastructure to support the client’s evolving data needs.
