Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented ServiceNow CMDB Business Analyst to join our dynamic IT team in Philadelphia, PA. This contract position is critical for organizations looking to optimize their IT Service Management (ITSM) capabilities. The successful candidate will act as a vital bridge between business stakeholders and the technical platform team, ensuring that the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) accurately reflects the organization’s IT infrastructure and service dependencies. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of requirements gathering, from initial stakeholder interviews to final delivery and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and document detailed business requirements for Configuration Management, Discovery, and Service Mapping modules within the ServiceNow platform.
- Translate complex business needs into actionable user stories and technical specifications for agile development teams.
- Liaise between business units and the ServiceNow platform team to ensure technical solutions align with strategic business objectives.
- Own the relationship with project stakeholders to identify, prioritize, model, and document business, process, and data requirements.
- Represent project stakeholders throughout the planning, development, and release processes to ensure quality and alignment.
- Work closely with the platform team to develop accurate release estimates and project timelines.
- Support the testing effort, including the creation of test cases and coordination of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Work with stakeholders to drive platform adoption and ensure that the CMDB provides tangible value to the business.
Required Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (4-years) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Deep understanding of the ITIL framework and industry best practices, with ITIL v3 or v4 certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of practical experience and demonstrated success with requirements gathering for ServiceNow CMDB and Service Mapping.
- Comprehensive understanding of ServiceNow Discovery, including Cloud Discovery (AWS, Azure, GCP) and its population of the CMDB.
- Proficiency in Service Mapping, MID server configuration, and complex data mapping.
- Familiarity with Integration Hub and connecting ServiceNow to external tools/systems is a significant plus.
- Strong experience with ServiceNow out-of-the-box functionalities to minimize customization and technical debt.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, TCP, SNMP, SOAP, and REST.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $60 – $60 per year
