Role Overview: Senior Supplier Quality Engineer
Valzo Soft Solutions is proud to represent a premier opportunity for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer specializing in External Manufacturing. Located in the heart of Irvine, California, this onsite, long-term contract role is critical for maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance in a complex global supply chain. As a Senior Engineer, you will provide both strategic and tactical support to external manufacturing operations, ensuring that all products meet rigorous safety and performance standards. You will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives that reduce operational errors and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities and Quality Oversight
- Deliver expert Quality Assurance (QA) guidance, making independent and timely decisions on complex compliance and quality matters.
- Lead comprehensive investigations into supplier and internal nonconformances, utilizing advanced root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigation methodologies.
- Review, approve, and monitor the effectiveness of Supplier Corrective and Preventive Actions (NC/CAPA) to ensure long-term resolution of issues.
- Provide critical oversight and escalation for quality issues that impact external manufacturing processes and product integrity.
- Execute and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes, including the selection, qualification, and approval of external manufacturers.
- Manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and oversee change control processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust Quality Agreements with external suppliers to define clear expectations and performance metrics.
- Lead supplier risk management activities, including the planning and execution of detailed risk assessments and control plans.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders in Procurement, R&D, Supply Chain, and Operations to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Ensure all activities are performed in strict compliance with cGMP requirements, safety policies, and internal quality systems.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Proven track record in Supplier Quality Engineering, specifically within an external manufacturing or EMS environment.
- Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and international regulatory standards.
- Hands-on expertise in root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and CAPA management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly those related to electronics or medical device manufacturing.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $138,000 – $182,000 per year (Estimated)
