Role Overview: DB2 Database Administrator
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DB2 Database Administrator to join our team for a critical onsite engagement in Lake Mary, FL. This role is dedicated to supporting a high-profile production environment for our client, Deloitte. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management, optimization, and maintenance of DB2 databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across diverse platforms including AWS and Red Hat Linux.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Depth
- Database Administration: Manage and maintain DB2 production environments with a focus on stability and scalability. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as LOAD, REORG, and RUNSTATS utilities.
- Performance Tuning: Conduct deep-dive SQL optimization and performance tuning to resolve bottlenecks and improve system response times.
- Cloud Integration: Support and manage databases within AWS environments, leveraging cloud-native tools for monitoring and scaling.
- Snowflake Support: Provide architectural and operational support for Snowflake data warehousing solutions, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.
- Automation: Develop and maintain complex Unix shell scripts to automate repetitive DBA tasks, backups, and system health checks.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize Splunk for proactive monitoring, incident troubleshooting, and log analysis to maintain system uptime.
- Disaster Recovery: Manage backup/recovery processes and participate in disaster recovery planning and execution to safeguard critical data.
- On-Call Support: Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation to address critical production issues and ensure continuous business operations.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a DB2 DBA in production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Red Hat Linux and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture and operational management.
- Expert-level Unix shell scripting and JCL knowledge in mainframe contexts.
- Proven track record in database performance tuning and SQL optimization.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)
