Role Overview: Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Jacksonville, FL. This onsite role is critical for the development and maintenance of automated systems within the medical device industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of control systems, from initial design and programming to implementation and continuous improvement on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Scope

  • System Development: Design and implement robust control architectures for automated manufacturing equipment. This includes extensive programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and complex motion control systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Act as the primary technical lead for resolving machinery downtime and quality issues. You will perform deep-dive diagnostics on automated systems to optimize performance, ensuring maximum safety and operational efficiency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: In the highly regulated medical device sector, you will ensure all automation and control systems strictly adhere to FDA regulations, ISO 13485 standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Documentation and Validation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and software version control. You will support equipment validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure all changes follow established change control processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance manufacturing reliability. This involves conducting root cause analysis (RCA) for system failures and implementing new technologies to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Commissioning and Support: Oversee the commissioning of new equipment and upgrades to existing lines. You will provide essential technical support and training to maintenance teams to ensure long-term system stability.

  • Familiarity with FDA and ISO regulatory requirements for automated systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Special Requirements

Medical Devices experience required; Onsite Jacksonville, FL; FDA/ISO/GMP compliance mandatory.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $44 – $44 per year
