Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior QA Test Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity in Plano, TX. This role requires a deep technical background in software quality engineering and the ability to lead and manage test engineers within a multi-tier web application environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with automation frameworks and a strong understanding of micro-service technologies. This is an onsite position requiring an in-person interview process.
Technical Skill Set
- Core Languages: Java, Groovy, Java Script.
- Testing Frameworks: Spock, Selenium, TestNG, Katalon, REST Assured.
- Tools & Utilities: Pact, Wiremock, Postman, Jira.
- DevOps & Infrastructure: Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
- Databases: Oracle, NoSQL (ability to write complex queries).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of test engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing scripts using Java, Groovy, and Selenium.
- Analyze requirements and application architecture to develop comprehensive test strategies.
- Execute various test cycles including Unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, Performance, and Volume testing.
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure all features meet business requirements.
- Document features tested and bugs found with high levels of detail and clarity.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the software quality field with hands-on engineering expertise.
- 2-4 years of experience in a leadership or management capacity for test engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of multi-tier web application architecture.
- Working knowledge of both relational (Oracle) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective documentation and team collaboration.
- Self-motivated individual who works well both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Work Environment
The role is based in Plano, TX, and requires the candidate to be onsite. The project involves working with modern micro-service architectures and integrated DevOps pipelines. Candidates must be prepared for a rigorous in-person interview process to demonstrate their technical proficiency and leadership capabilities.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)
