Role Overview
We are seeking a highly accomplished Full Stack Java Engineering Lead with 12 to 15 years of professional experience to spearhead our application development initiatives. This is a long-term contract position that offers the flexibility of a remote work environment, although the role is associated with our Spring, Texas operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical foundation in modern web technologies and cloud infrastructure, specifically focusing on Angular 16+, Java Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Technical Leadership and Pod Management
- Lead onshore and offshore pods of engineers through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring end-to-end application delivery.
- Set high standards for code quality, performance, and security across the development team.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Product Management, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Security teams to design scalable and efficient application solutions.
Core Technical Requirements
- Expertise in Front-End Development: Advanced proficiency in Angular (version 16 or higher) is mandatory for building responsive and high-performance user interfaces.
- Back-End Mastery: Extensive experience building robust, cloud-native microservices using Java Spring Boot.
- Database Management: Strong skills in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including schema design, debugging, and query optimization.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Critical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) and cloud-native deployment strategies.
- CI/CD and Automation: Hands-on experience setting up and managing automated pipelines using GitHub Actions, Harness, Argo CD, or CircleCI.
- Testing: Familiarity with automation testing tools like Playwright to ensure application reliability and feature integrity.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Facilitate sprint planning, tracking, and retrospectives within an Agile framework using tools like Jira and Rally.
- Drive technical initiatives from conception to deployment, ensuring project alignment with business goals and acceptance criteria.
- Implement feature flagging and performance optimization techniques to enhance user experience and system stability.
- Build and integrate reporting solutions using third-party tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, utilizing iframes or REST APIs for UI rendering.
Preferred Qualifications
- GCP or Azure Certified Developer credentials.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent certification.
- Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and setting standards across the development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $245,000 per year (Estimated)
