Position Summary
The SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) OTC with VMS Team Lead is a critical role that demands a unique blend of functional expertise and leadership capability. Located onsite in Normal, Illinois, with additional responsibilities in Plymouth, Minnesota, this role is at the heart of our client’s supply chain and sales operations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the Order-to-Cash process, specifically tailored for the automotive industry through the Vehicle Management System (VMS). This involves a deep dive into complex business processes such as vehicle ordering, tracking, and delivery, ensuring that every step is accurately reflected in the SAP S/4 HANA environment. Your day-to-day activities will include leading a team of functional consultants, managing AMS support tickets, and driving the implementation of new features and enhancements.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee the AMS (Application Management Services) support work for SAP SD and Vehicle Management Systems, ensuring all service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans that align with the strategic objectives of the manufacturing and logistics departments.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including FICO, MM, and external partners, to ensure integrated solution delivery.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through regular status meetings, reporting, and proactive communication.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that timelines and budgets are maintained despite technical or operational challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing project data and identifying trends that can lead to process optimization.
- Provide technical guidance to the team, particularly in the areas of SAP S/4 HANA configuration and VMS functionality.
- Facilitate training and knowledge transfer sessions to empower team members and end-users.
- Ensure all technical documentation, including functional specifications and configuration guides, is maintained to the highest standards.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP implementations, with a heavy focus on Sales and Distribution (SD) and Order-to-Cash (OTC).
- Specialized expertise in SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, including the Activate methodology and migration strategies.
- Experience with SAP integration technologies such as IDOCs, EDI, and XML.
- Familiarity with related modules like Materials Management (MM) and Finance (FICO) is essential for cross-functional success.
- Knowledge of SAP Warranty and external tax systems like Vertex is a significant plus.
- Ability to perform debugging and understand user exits to support technical troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
- SAP S/4 HANA certification in OTC is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of leading teams in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer service.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for interacting with both technical teams and business owners.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 per year (Estimated)
