Position Summary: Drupal with Python Developer (Remote – Florida)
We are looking for a versatile and skilled Drupal Developer with strong Python integration experience to support a high-profile content management initiative. This role is centered on bridging the gap between a robust React/Python-based application and a headless Drupal CMS deployment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Drupal on the Acquia Cloud platform and a deep understanding of how to architect content for modern, decoupled web applications. This is a remote position, but candidates must be physically located in the state of Florida for the duration of the contract.
Core Responsibilities and Technical Scope
- Architect, set up, and manage Drupal content management workflows on Acquia Cloud, with a primary focus on headless CMS configurations.
- Collaborate closely with the backend Python team and frontend React developers to ensure seamless content delivery via RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Configure and customize Drupal modules to meet specific project requirements, including occasional PHP development for system enhancements.
- Establish best practices for content modeling, taxonomy, and editorial workflows to empower content creators while maintaining technical integrity.
- Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot Drupal performance, security, and scalability within the Acquia Cloud environment.
- Document all configurations, custom module development, and integration workflows to ensure long-term maintainability.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in headless CMS, Acquia Cloud features, and the broader Drupal ecosystem to provide strategic recommendations.
- Assist in the resolution of complex integration issues between the CMS and the application’s microservices architecture.
Technical Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience in Drupal development, specifically with Drupal 9 or 10 and headless/decoupled architectures.
- Strong understanding of Python and its integration patterns with external CMS platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Acquia Cloud for hosting and managing enterprise-grade Drupal sites.
- Proficiency in PHP for Drupal module customization and backend logic.
- Experience working with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks in a decoupled environment.
- Solid understanding of API design (REST/JSON) and content modeling principles.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high levels of productivity and communication.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to navigate complex technical stacks.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $104,000 – $115,000 per year
