Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 12 years of professional experience to join our specialized banking technology team in Dallas, Texas. This role is strictly for local candidates as no relocation assistance is provided. The successful candidate will focus heavily on the intersection of DevOps and database management, specifically within the high-compliance environment of the banking sector. This is a mission-critical position where 80% of the daily focus will be dedicated to GitHub and GitHub Actions, specifically targeting CI/CD pipeline design and the automation of complex database migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain sophisticated GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines with a primary emphasis on database migration and schema evolution.
- Lead database migration initiatives using GitHub pipelines, ensuring all schema changes, data migration scripts, and reconciliation steps are fully automated.
- Integrate database deployments as first-class citizens within the CI/CD lifecycle, eliminating manual or post-deployment intervention.
- Migrate legacy databases from older CI/CD platforms to GitHub, ensuring full auditability, traceability, and deployment safety required for banking regulations.
- Develop and execute complex SQL queries and stored procedures as automated pipeline jobs.
- Build and maintain advanced Power scripting for automation, validation, and recovery orchestration.
- Collaborate with DBAs, application developers, and platform owners to gather migration requirements and resolve dependencies.
- Enforce DevOps best practices and quality-guided principles, including artifact versioning, environment promotion, and compliance control.
Technical Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency with GitHub Actions, including workflow design, secrets management, and reusable workflows.
- Proven experience in database migration automation within a CI/CD framework.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Power scripting for automation and validation.
- Deep expertise in Azure cloud services and Git version control.
- Advanced SQL knowledge, including the ability to write complex queries and maintain stored procedures.
- Experience using REST APIs and shared libraries within CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with supporting tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, and various API utilities.
Domain and Soft Skills
- Extensive experience within the Banking or Financial Services domain is mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating complex database changes with multiple stakeholders.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and enforce strict security and compliance standards.

Pure Banking Domain, Local to Texas Only, No Re-location
Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
