Role Overview

The Sr. Principal Network Architect is a critical leadership position responsible for the strategic design and implementation of our global enterprise network infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical authority for all networking initiatives, ensuring that our systems are scalable, resilient, and secure. As we move into 2026, the complexity of hybrid cloud environments and the necessity for zero-trust security architectures demand a visionary leader who can navigate the intricacies of modern networking technologies. You will be expected to drive innovation and efficiency, ensuring that our network infrastructure remains a competitive advantage for the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design of large-scale LAN/WAN environments, utilizing Cisco and Aruba technologies to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of Meraki cloud-managed solutions across multiple branch locations, optimizing for ease of use and centralized control.
  • Design and implement robust security frameworks using Palo Alto Firewalls, ensuring comprehensive protection against evolving cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with cloud platforms, supporting the organization’s digital transformation goals.
  • Conduct regular capacity planning and performance tuning to anticipate future growth and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Develop and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting support for complex network issues, serving as the final point of escalation for the network engineering team.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for strategic investments that align with business objectives.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations, ensuring that the organization receives the best value and support from its technology partners.

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in network architecture and engineering, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale solutions in production environments.
  • Expertise in Cisco routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP protocols.
  • Deep understanding of SD-WAN technologies and their application in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Aruba wireless solutions and ClearPass policy management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto Networks security products, including GlobalProtect and Panorama.
  • Strong understanding of network virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
  • Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, Python, or Terraform.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.

Strategic Vision and Leadership

Beyond the technical implementation, the Sr. Principal Network Architect must possess a deep understanding of business operations. You will work closely with executive leadership to align infrastructure roadmaps with corporate strategy. This involves identifying opportunities for cost optimization through technology consolidation and the adoption of more efficient networking paradigms. In the 2026 landscape, this includes leveraging AI-driven network analytics to predict failures before they occur and automating routine maintenance tasks to free up engineering resources for higher-value projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in navigating the transition to a fully integrated, software-defined enterprise where the network is as agile as the applications it supports. You will also be responsible for disaster recovery planning and business continuity, ensuring that the network can withstand and recover from catastrophic events with minimal impact on operations.
