Position Summary

LiveMindz is looking for a Senior Node.js / Java / GCP Developer with a minimum of 13 years of hands-on software development experience to join our distributed engineering team. This is a high-level individual contributor role that requires a deep technical background in cloud-native development, microservices architecture, and large-scale system design. You will be responsible for building and maintaining mission-critical backend services on the Google Cloud Platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Core Technical Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop robust backend services using Node.js and Java, focusing on performance and maintainability.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs that serve as the backbone for various customer-facing and internal applications.
  • Leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services to build scalable, cloud-native solutions.
  • Manage and deploy applications within Kubernetes environments, ensuring proper container orchestration and resource management.
  • Utilize Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming, producing and consuming messages across distributed systems.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, writing complex queries and ensuring data integrity.
  • Maintain high code quality through rigorous version control practices using Git and GitHub, including detailed code reviews and pull request workflows.
  • Utilize modern development tools like Visual Studio Code (VSCode) to streamline the development lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 13 years of professional experience in software development is mandatory for this senior-level position.
  • Expert-level proficiency in either Node.js or Java, with significant experience in the other.
  • Proven experience with GCP services (GCE, GKE, Cloud Functions, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of messaging patterns and event-driven architecture using Kafka.
  • Solid experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration in a remote environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug complex, distributed system issues independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum frameworks.
  • Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
  • Experience in mentoring junior developers and leading technical design discussions.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $165,000 – $225,000 per year
