Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Owner with a deep specialization in the Insurance domain, specifically focusing on the Guidewire ecosystem. This role is critical for our Business Unit Insurance, operating within an Agile Scrum delivery model. As the Product Owner, you will serve as the primary voice of the customer and business stakeholders, ensuring that the product roadmap aligns with strategic business goals while delivering high-value enhancements across our core insurance platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and articulate a comprehensive product vision and roadmap for digital insurance products, converting high-level business objectives into actionable themes, features, and detailed user stories.
- Take full ownership of the product backlog, including continuous refinement, prioritization, and grooming to ensure all items meet the ‘Definition of Ready’ (DoR).
- Collaborate extensively with business stakeholders across Underwriting, Claims, Billing, Actuarial, and Policy Service departments to gather requirements and lead JAD sessions.
- Work closely with Scrum Masters and Agile delivery teams during sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives to ensure incremental value delivery.
- Translate complex insurance workflows into functional system behaviors, specifically within Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, risks, and dependencies while overseeing release planning and presenting product updates to executive leadership.
- Ensure all features and system behaviors adhere to strict regulatory, legal, and audit requirements within the P&C insurance landscape.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution to validate that acceptance criteria are met and quality standards are maintained.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 6 to 12 years of professional experience within the Insurance domain, with a strong preference for Property & Casualty (P&C).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience acting as a Product Owner or Senior Business Analyst in an Agile environment.
- Deep functional knowledge of the insurance lifecycle, including policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, claims adjudication, and billing/payments.
- Hands-on experience with Guidewire platforms (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) or similar systems like Duck Creek or Majesco.
- Proficiency in technical tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, and process modeling software like Visio or Lucidchart.
- Basic understanding of API integration concepts and SQL knowledge for data validation and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to operate independently in complex environments.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO I/II).
- Guidewire certifications or industry-recognized insurance certifications such as AINS or CPCU.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $108,160 per year
