Position Summary
Winaxis is currently seeking an experienced Network Architect for a high-impact contract opportunity in Englewood, CO. This role requires a seasoned professional to lead the design and development of enterprise-level network architectures, encompassing both on-premise data centers and hybrid cloud environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical leadership and strategic roadmaps for the organization’s networking infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring that the network is agile, secure, and capable of supporting the business’s evolving digital needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design of enterprise networks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance.
- Develop technical specifications and roadmaps for hybrid cloud connectivity involving AWS and Azure.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and SD-WAN to improve efficiency.
- Design and implement advanced network security solutions, including Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls.
- Configure and manage IDS/IPS systems and VPN technologies to protect sensitive data and critical systems.
- Develop network segmentation and isolation strategies to ensure compliance with global security standards.
- Optimize network performance through capacity planning, network modeling, and detailed performance analysis.
- Manage load-balancing systems to ensure high availability for high-traffic enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and application development.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex network issues and mentor engineering and operations teams.
- Oversee the implementation of routing and switching protocols such as OSPF and BGP across multi-site environments.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, topologies, and implementation plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering within large-scale environments.
- At least 5 years of experience specifically in a Network Architect role designing enterprise-level networks.
- Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching protocols using Cisco and Juniper hardware.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking (IaaS/PaaS) in AWS or Azure environments.
- Strong understanding of SDN principles and practical implementation experience with SDN technologies.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to stakeholders.
Work Environment
This position is located in Englewood, CO, and requires an onsite presence four days a week. The environment is fast-paced and requires a proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement. Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
