Role Overview: Content Operations Manager & DAM Librarian

We are seeking a highly strategic and systems-oriented Content Operations Manager to join our team at Sallie Mae. This role is designed for a professional who thrives at the intersection of platform strategy, intelligent automation, and content governance. This includes managing permissions, access controls, and ensuring that all digital assets meet rigorous quality and regulatory standards.
  • Content Operations & Automation: Drive operational excellence by coordinating asset management across integrated platforms like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Salesforce. You will be expected to implement AI-driven solutions for metadata tagging and automated quality assurance to streamline the content lifecycle.
  • Metadata & Taxonomy Design: Develop and refine complex metadata strategies and taxonomies. Your goal is to ensure that assets are easily discoverable and retrievable for cross-functional teams, including marketing, legal, and engineering.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Act as the primary lead for content operations within agile pods. You will participate in backlog grooming, stand-ups, and reviews, ensuring that asset integrity is maintained while meeting the fast-paced needs of product and engineering teams.
  • Education & Continuous Improvement: Educate internal stakeholders on DAM best practices and governance policies. You will continuously assess system efficiency using analytics and user feedback to drive iterative improvements.

Qualifications and Technical Requirements

  • 4-6+ years of experience in DAM, CMS, or Content Operations roles within a corporate environment.
  • Proven expertise with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Workfront, Adobe Target, and Salesforce.
  • Mastery of metadata design, taxonomy structures, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience in regulated industries (Finance/Legal) is highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to produce developer-ready specifications and explain technical rationale to non-technical audiences.
