Role Overview

Tek Inspirations LLC is seeking an Advanced Business Analyst for a high-impact, 6-month+ contract opportunity in Columbia, South Carolina. This role is strictly onsite and requires the candidate to be a current resident of South Carolina. The successful candidate will support Government IT Projects, focusing on the development and modification of complex computer systems. This position demands a professional who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that all project requirements are meticulously documented and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Elicitation & Analysis: Lead the process of eliciting, analyzing, and documenting complex business rules, processes, and functional requirements for government-scale IT systems.
  • System Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Actively participate in all phases of the SDLC, ensuring that development efforts align with documented business needs and quality standards.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize SQL database queries to perform data analysis, validate system outputs, and support troubleshooting efforts during the development and testing phases.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and government stakeholders, to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business requirement documents (BRD), functional specification documents (FSD), and user stories within JIRA.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Relevant professional experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working on Government IT Projects in a Business Analyst or closely related capacity.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business rules and requirements.
  • At least 1+ years of hands-on experience with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • At least 1+ years of experience working with SQL databases for data retrieval and analysis.
  • Must be a current resident of South Carolina and able to work onsite in Columbia.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis).
  • PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) certification.
  • 1+ years of experience using JIRA for project tracking and requirement management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Visio, Word).

Special Requirements

Candidate MUST be a South Carolina resident; Onsite requirement in Columbia, SC.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $95,000 – $130,000 per year

Location: Columbia, SC
