Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer with over a decade of experience to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining high-performance data software solutions that power our next-generation AI and machine learning applications. Whether working remotely or from our Alpharetta office, you will be at the forefront of cloud-native development, utilizing Golang and Python to solve complex data engineering challenges. You will be responsible for the backbone of our data infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability.
Core Responsibilities
- Software Architecture: Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems using Golang and Python, ensuring code quality and system reliability.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Build and deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes within cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Data Pipeline Engineering: Develop and optimize ETL processes and data pipelines to handle massive datasets efficiently.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and product managers, to translate customer needs into technical requirements.
- System Optimization: Continuously improve the performance, security, and observability of our backend infrastructure.
- Data Modeling: Perform advanced data modeling and transformation to support complex machine learning workflows and AI-driven features.
- DevOps Integration: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to ensure seamless software delivery.
Technical Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development with a focus on Golang and Python.
- Orchestration: Deep expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm for container orchestration and management.
- Data Tools: Proficiency with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Prefect, and experience with large-scale data transformation.
- Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their associated service ecosystems.
- Monitoring: Familiarity with observability stacks, including Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Best Practices: A strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
