Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Workday Financials Consultant to join our team in Rockville, MD. This is a hybrid role that requires the consultant to be on-site three days a week, following FINRA guidelines. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 10 years of experience in financial systems, with a specialized focus on the Workday Financials suite. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of Workday implementations, from requirement gathering and analysis to configuration, testing, and production support. This role demands a deep understanding of financial business processes and the ability to leverage Workday’s advanced reporting and security features to meet complex business needs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Workday Financials modules, including Revenue Management, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Banking.
  • Design and develop complex Workday reports, including Simple, Advanced, and Matrix reports, utilizing calculated fields and various business objects.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Workday projects, including business analysis, process flow design, and the creation of approval workflows.
  • Oversee Workday bi-annual feature releases by reviewing release notes, identifying new functionalities, and performing regression testing to ensure no SLA impacts.
  • Analyze and resolve production support issues, performing thorough root cause analysis and documenting findings.
  • Manage Workday security configurations, including User-Based and Role-Based Security Groups, and troubleshoot access-related issues.
  • Collaborate with external Workday consultants and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and functional challenges.
  • Utilize JIRA for project tracking and J-Queries for data analysis and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Technical Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of professional experience in financial systems or ERP consulting.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Workday Financials, specifically in Revenue and Cash Management.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Report Writer and Calculated Fields.
  • Proficiency in Kainos test automation and JAMS Jobs Scheduler is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Vertex tax software integration is a significant plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles, including revenue recognition and billing schedules.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Work Environment and Compliance

  • This position is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA office.
  • Compliance with FINRA guidelines is mandatory for this role.
  • Candidates must be self-driven, independent workers who can quickly adapt to new technologies and business requirements.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $155,000 – $205,000 per year

Location: Rockville, MD
