Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer for a long-term remote engagement. This position is strictly W2 and requires a professional with 8 to 10 years of experience in the Guidewire ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of PolicyCenter configuration and integration, specifically within the Guidewire Cloud environment. As a senior developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex insurance policy management solutions that align with industry best practices and client-specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the configuration and customization of Guidewire PolicyCenter modules to support diverse insurance product lines.
- Utilize Guidewire Cloud standards to develop scalable and maintainable code within the cloud-native architecture.
- Implement and manage System Business Tools (SBTs) to streamline policy lifecycle processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop robust integrations between PolicyCenter and BillingCenter (PC-BC Integration) to ensure seamless data flow and financial accuracy.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and high-quality software solutions.
- Perform rigorous unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure the reliability and stability of the Guidewire platform.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of software craftsmanship.
- Stay updated with the latest Guidewire releases and features, ensuring the application leverages the most current capabilities of the platform.
Technical Requirements
- Mandatory GW ACE Certification in PolicyCenter Configuration.
- Extensive experience with PolicyCenter Configuration and the use of SBTs.
- Proven track record of working within Guidewire Cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in PC-BC (PolicyCenter to BillingCenter) integration patterns.
- Proficiency in Gosu programming, XML, and Java-based web services.
- Solid understanding of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain, including policy issuance, renewals, and endorsements.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
Professional Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years dedicated specifically to Guidewire PolicyCenter. The role demands a proactive problem-solver who can navigate the complexities of large-scale insurance transformations. Your ability to deliver high-quality code under tight deadlines while maintaining a focus on long-term architectural integrity will be critical to your success in this role.
