Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Mobile Automation Testing Lead to join our dynamic QA team. This role is critical for ensuring the quality and performance of our mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms. The ideal candidate will have a decade or more of experience in the automation space, with a specific focus on mobile technologies and cloud-based testing environments. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week on-site in either Detroit, MI or Charlotte, NC.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and own the comprehensive mobile test automation strategy for both iOS and Android applications.
- Lead the design, framework selection, and implementation of automation solutions.
- Manage and mentor a team of mobile QA and automation engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.
- Collaborate closely with onsite development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure seamless integration of QA processes.
- Design and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks that can adapt to evolving project requirements.
- Drive automation efforts for functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing phases.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous testing and rapid deployment.
- Ensure broad coverage across real devices, emulators, and cloud device farms.
- Review test cases, automation scripts, and execution reports to maintain high quality standards.
- Track quality metrics, defect trends, and release readiness to provide stakeholders with clear visibility into product health.
- Handle production issues, defect triage, and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Technical Qualifications
- 10-14 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a focus on automation.
- Strong experience with mobile automation tools, specifically Maestro and Appium.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation scripting.
- Extensive experience with BDD frameworks including Cucumber, TestNG, and JUnit.
- Hands-on knowledge of API testing and backend validation techniques.
- Mandatory experience with cloud testing platforms, specifically BrowserStack; familiarity with Sauce Labs and Firebase Test Lab is also required.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of performance and security testing principles.
- Innovative experience in leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to support testing activities, including test case optimization and defect analysis.
Strategic Impact and Innovation
As a lead in our QA organization, you will be expected to drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies. This includes the integration of AI and LLM-driven testing tools to enhance our defect analysis and script generation capabilities. You will play a key role in shifting testing left in the development lifecycle, ensuring that quality is built into the product from the initial design phase. Your leadership will directly impact the speed and reliability of our mobile application releases.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
