Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled UAT Tester for a critical one-year contract engagement in Hartford, CT. This role is centered on the modernization of Child Support systems, requiring a professional who can bridge the gap between complex business requirements and technical system functionality. As a hybrid position, the successful candidate will benefit from a flexible work arrangement while maintaining close collaboration with state stakeholders and project teams. The primary focus of this position is to ensure that the newly implemented Child Support modules meet the rigorous standards of the program and the needs of the citizens they serve.
Key Responsibilities
- UAT Strategy and Execution: Lead and support the execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities across multiple Child Support modules. This includes ensuring that all testing phases are completed on schedule and meet quality benchmarks.
- Scenario and Test Case Development: Collaborate extensively with Child Support program Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate intricate business processes into comprehensive UAT scenarios and test cases.
- Defect Lifecycle Management: Execute assigned test cases, document results with precision, and log defects. You will be responsible for supporting defect triage meetings, performing retesting, and validating that fixes are successfully implemented without regressions.
- Policy and Federal Compliance: Validate that all system functionalities align perfectly with Child Support policies, state workflows, and federal OCSE requirements. This requires a high level of attention to detail and domain-specific knowledge.
- Readiness and Reporting: Participate in UAT readiness activities, provide daily status updates to the project management office, and assist in the formal test cycle closeout documentation.
- Rollout and Stabilization: Provide hands-on support for UAT activities during statewide rollouts and offer post-go-live stabilization assistance to ensure system reliability during the transition period.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Domain Expertise: Proven experience supporting UAT specifically for Child Support Modernization implementations is mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of Child Support program knowledge, including case management and federal reporting.
- Platform Experience: Direct, hands-on experience with implementations and rollouts involving Protech’s Child Support Platform is required.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with multi-vendor teams and government staff.
- Compliance: Full compliance with State of Connecticut policies and procedures is required throughout the duration of the contract.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working directly with Child Support program staff and business SMEs in a government setting.
- Familiarity with federal OCSE requirements and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in using modern test management and defect tracking tools such as Xray, Jira, or ALM.
- A track record of supporting large-scale, multi-vendor government system implementations.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $95,000 – $125,000 per year (Estimated)
