Position Summary

We are looking for a talented .NET Developer to join our specialized engineering group in Santa Clara, CA. This role is uniquely positioned within the medical and instrumentation sector, specifically focusing on the development of LCMS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) Quadrupole driver software. This is a hybrid role that requires onsite presence from day one and is ideal for a developer who enjoys working at the intersection of software and hardware. You will be part of a high-performing Scrum team dedicated to delivering precision software for scientific instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain driver software for LCMS Quadrupole systems using C# and the Microsoft .NET framework.
  • Collaborate closely with Hardware and Firmware engineering teams to define and implement low-level system interfaces.
  • Design and build user interfaces and system integrations in partnership with multiple Data System teams.
  • Utilize object-oriented programming principles and design patterns to create robust, reusable code.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues related to real-time data acquisition and instrument control.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) within a regulated and audited environment.
  • Implement multi-threaded solutions to handle high-frequency data streams and ensure system stability.

Technical Environment and Challenges

Working in the medical instrumentation field requires a high degree of precision and an understanding of regulated environments. The software you develop will be subject to rigorous auditing and must meet strict quality standards. Experience with WPF and the MVVM design pattern is highly advantageous, as it allows for the creation of sophisticated, responsive user interfaces required by laboratory professionals. Furthermore, a background in mass spectrometry or chromatographic data systems will provide a significant advantage in understanding the functional requirements of the end-users. This role offers the challenge of managing real-time systems where performance and reliability are paramount.

Why Join This Team?

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that has a real-world impact on medical diagnostics and scientific research. You will be surrounded by experts in both software engineering and physical sciences, providing a rich environment for professional growth. We value developers who are proactive problem solvers and who can navigate the complexities of embedded programming and system-level integration. If you have a passion for building high-quality software for complex hardware products, we encourage you to apply and become a key contributor to our next generation of instrumentation software.
