Opportunity: Senior Java Developer (Remote)
VTekis Consulting is currently seeking a talented and motivated Java Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications using the latest Java technologies. As the industry moves toward more decentralized and cloud-native architectures in 2026, we are looking for developers who are not only proficient in coding but also understand the nuances of microservices orchestration, containerization, and automated CI/CD pipelines. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States while contributing to mission-critical projects for our enterprise clients.
Core Responsibilities and Technical Scope
- Design and implement robust microservices using Spring Boot and Java 17/21+, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with various third-party services and internal systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions in an Agile environment.
- Optimize application performance through profiling, tuning, and implementing efficient caching strategies.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices and SOLID principles.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge within the development team.
- Implement security best practices, including OAuth2, JWT, and data encryption, to protect sensitive information.
- Work with DevOps teams to containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes.
- Manage database interactions using JPA/Hibernate with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications and Professional Growth
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in computer science and several years of professional experience in Java development. We value developers who are continuous learners and stay updated with the evolving Java ecosystem. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly desirable.
