Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst for a long-term contract position. This role is onsite and can be based in Mountain View, CA; San Diego, CA; New York City, NY; or Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of professional experience in data analysis and business intelligence, with a strong focus on transforming raw data into actionable business insights. This position requires a candidate who is currently local to one of the specified locations and holds an H1B visa. You will work with business stakeholders to grow their BI skill set and deliver high-quality visual insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Dashboard Development: You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing sophisticated dashboards using Qlik Sense and Tableau. This includes creating intuitive visualizations that allow business stakeholders to easily interpret complex data sets.
- SQL Optimization: A significant portion of the role involves writing and optimizing complex SQL queries. You will extract and transform data from multiple sources, ensuring that the data is accurate and performant for reporting purposes.
- Data Quality and Validation: You will support data validation and quality checks, troubleshooting any issues that arise within the data pipeline. Ensuring the integrity of the data is paramount for reliable business reporting.
- Business Collaboration: You will work closely with business stakeholders to translate their requirements into analytical solutions. This involves understanding the business context and providing visual insights that drive decision-making.
- Data Modeling: You will assist in data modeling and preparation within Qlik Sense, including the development of load scripts and data transformations.
- Documentation: Maintaining clear documentation of dashboards, data definitions, and analytical logic is a key part of the role to ensure transparency and ease of maintenance.
Technical Requirements
- Core Skills: Expert-level proficiency in SQL (joins, subqueries, aggregations) and hands-on experience with Qlik Sense and Tableau.
- Cloud and Programming: Experience with AWS and Python is required. Familiarity with Databricks is considered a strong “good to have” skill.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field is required.
- Experience: At least 8 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence is mandatory.

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You must be able to communicate complex technical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. This is an onsite role, requiring collaboration with senior analysts, data engineers, and business users in a fast-paced environment. You will provide ad-hoc analysis and support recurring reporting needs while ensuring all data warehousing concepts are applied correctly.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
