Role Overview
The AI Engineer III position is a high-impact, senior-level role designed for a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in software development, specifically focusing on Python and AI-driven solutions. This role is pivotal in driving the next generation of intelligent applications across our major corporate hubs in Charlotte, Jersey City, Kennesaw, and Plano. As a Hybrid role, it offers the flexibility of remote work combined with essential in-person collaboration to foster innovation and team synergy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of AI applications, from initial design and architectural planning to deployment and continuous optimization in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java and Python applications that serve as the backbone of our enterprise AI initiatives.
- Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders, to identify requirements and translate them into scalable technical architectures.
- Lead code reviews and establish rigorous engineering best practices to ensure code quality, security, and maintainability across the organization.
- Perform deep technical analysis to resolve complex production issues and create robust technological artifacts in response to evolving business needs.
- Implement and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs) using modern frameworks such as Langchain and LlamaIndex to deliver business value.
- Develop and integrate Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns to enhance the accuracy and relevance of AI-driven application responses.
- Manage the integration of AI models into existing software ecosystems, ensuring seamless data flow and high performance.
- Stay abreast of emerging AI trends and technologies, providing thought leadership and recommendations for future technological investments.
Technical Requirements
- 10+ years of demonstrable experience in Python development; additional proficiency in Java is highly desirable for full-stack integration.
- Expertise in Web API development frameworks such as Spring, REST, and RESTEASY to build scalable microservices.
- Hands-on experience with database technologies including Redis, Oracle, and specialized Vector databases for AI applications.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft AI stack, including Copilot, AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, and the broader Azure ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Generative AI model development and deployment tools like Nvidia Triton servers for high-throughput LLM serving.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms, specifically Red Hat OpenShift and Docker.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Git and Jenkins to automate software delivery.
- Proven experience working within Agile or Scrum methodologies to manage complex IT projects effectively.
Professional Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Relevant industry certifications, such as Java Certified Professional (OCP) or Azure AI Engineer Associate, are a significant plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
