Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and seasoned SolarWinds Engineer to spearhead the design, implementation, and optimization of a comprehensive monitoring strategy across a complex technology infrastructure. This critical role is designed for a technical leader who can ensure real-time visibility, maximum operational uptime, and infrastructure safety. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SolarWinds platform engineering and a sophisticated understanding of performance monitoring within high-availability, enterprise-grade environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and continuously optimize SolarWinds modules including NPM, SAM, NTA, and DPA, alongside LogicMonitor platforms across diverse transit and infrastructure systems.
  • Develop and maintain custom dashboards, sophisticated alerting mechanisms, and detailed reports that align with operational KPIs and strict SLA thresholds.
  • Integrate the SolarWinds ecosystem with various cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), enterprise systems, and third-party tools to achieve a unified observability framework.
  • Partner closely with application owners and stakeholders to provide both out-of-the-box and highly customized monitoring solutions tailored to specific business needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, cloud architecture, and IT operations, to ensure resilient and comprehensive monitoring coverage.
  • Maintain and enhance the overall health of the monitoring infrastructure to support 24/7 operations.
  • Thoroughly document system architecture, operational workflows, and escalation protocols for both internal teams and vendor stakeholders.

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with SolarWinds in large-scale enterprise or public sector environments.
  • At least 3 years of experience specifically deploying and managing LogicMonitor in hybrid or cloud-native environments.
  • Strong technical command of networking and polling protocols including SNMP, WMI, NetFlow, and database polling techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python to drive automation and facilitate custom integrations.
  • Proven experience working within hybrid environments, with specific expertise in Azure or AWS cloud monitoring.
  • Familiarity with complex database queries for custom database performance monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL practices and incident response workflows within a structured IT environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience working within critical infrastructure domains or public service sectors.
  • SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) or equivalent industry-recognized certifications.
  • LogicMonitor Certified Associate or Professional status is highly desirable.
  • Experience utilizing the Orion SDK and performing API-based data extraction for advanced reporting.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $125,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Trenton, NJ
